Protecting a Boat While Fresh Coating Cures

The period after application is part of the coating process. A surface can look finished while still requiring protection from washing, handling or environmental exposure.

Ask for separate milestones

Have the installer explain when the surface may be touched, exposed to water, cleaned and returned to its intended service. Use the instructions for the exact formulation and conditions. Do not substitute a generic internet curing time or a schedule used for another NANOLAB product.

Communicate with everyone using the boat

Give the owner, yard and cleaning crew the same written instructions. Identify treated areas and any restrictions that apply to covers, fenders or equipment resting against them. Keep other work from introducing dust or spray into the protected area. A visible job card can help when several people share responsibility.

Report accidental exposure promptly

If water, dirt or a chemical reaches the surface early, note the time, location and exposure. Contact the installer before scrubbing, polishing or layering more product. The appropriate response depends on what happened and the stage of curing. Preserve photographs and the application record so the advice can be specific.
