Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
Outdoor furniture can combine painted metal, plastics, wood, glass and textiles in one piece. A coating decision should follow the material that is actually exposed at each location.
Check the manufacturer’s care information and note factory finishes. A metal frame may be painted or powder-coated, while a tabletop may have a different surface treatment. Record contact points, flexible joints and areas where water collects.
Ask the supplier which components are suitable for the exact product and preparation method. Do not assume a coating intended for stainless steel also suits painted frames or plastic seats. Consider appearance, feel and the intended use when planning a discreet compatibility test.
Follow the furniture manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning, covers and seasonal storage. A protective layer does not repair failing paint, loose joints or damaged material. Keep treated and untreated parts clear in the care notes. If a mark develops, identify the component and recent exposure before selecting further cleaning or correction.
