Graphene Certificates of Analysis: Which Questions Can They Answer?

A certificate of analysis can document specified checks for an identified batch.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A certificate of analysis can document specified checks for an identified batch. It should be read as a record of those checks, not as a universal certificate that a graphene coating is better than competing products.

Look at the listed items

Check the sample identity, date, test names, units and acceptance criteria. Distinguish measured results from specification limits and from statements copied from a supplier’s general brochure. If the certificate concerns a raw additive, keep that scope visible; it is not automatically an analysis of the finished bottle.

Match evidence to the claim

A composition-related result may support an ingredient statement but not a durability promise. A visual appearance check may support consistency but not a scratch-resistance claim. Ask for the relevant product-level evidence when a sales statement goes beyond the certificate’s contents. It is acceptable for different documents to answer different questions.

A useful certificate is specific and traceable. Read what it actually establishes, retain its limitations and resist turning the document’s official appearance into evidence for claims it never tested.
