A full polishing range.
From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
Fine-cut liquid on microfiber and the same liquid on foam are two different working systems.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
Fine-cut liquid on microfiber and the same liquid on foam are two different working systems. Comparing only the bottle misses the pad’s contribution. Judge both the defect reduction and the cleaned finish, including any extra refinement required.
Use pads approved for the machine and compatible with the liquid’s instructions. Do not assume every microfiber pad is a cutting pad or every foam pad is a finishing pad. Exact construction and intended use matter.
Prepare each pad according to its own instructions. Keep its condition traceable throughout the trial. A fresh foam pad compared with a heavily loaded microfiber pad does not isolate material choice fairly.
Use suitable areas with similar starting defects and the same acceptance standard. Follow the intended method for each system and record the differences. A practical process comparison can allow different supported settings, provided the report states them clearly.
After compatible residue removal, inspect broad clarity, fine haze and isolated remaining marks. Time pad cleaning and any follow-up finish stage. A faster first correction may not be the more efficient route to the final result.
| Question | Why it matters |
| — | — |
| Which target marks improve? | Defines useful correction |
| What fine pattern remains? | Reveals the refinement requirement |
| How often is pad maintenance needed? | Affects consistency and labour |
| Does the result repeat across sections? | Tests reliability beyond one patch |
Do not generalise a single comparison into a ranking of all foam and microfiber pads. State the exact products, paint and method tested.
If one combination meets the goal in a single polishing stage and the other needs further refinement, make that difference visible in the service plan. Fine cut is a process outcome, not merely a label on the liquid. Selecting the pad by the accepted finish produces a more useful decision than selecting it by material reputation alone.
