A full polishing range.
From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
Separate preparation, surface coverage, access and aftercare support before comparing prices.

Marine coating proposals can differ substantially in preparation, treated area, access and aftercare support. A price comparison should make those differences visible. Similar package names do not establish that two contractors are offering equivalent work.
List surfaces, finish history, preparation stages, proposed products and exclusions. Identify areas requiring further assessment. Keep cosmetic scope distinct from any special-use application that needs separate confirmation. Ask each provider to clarify unresolved assumptions rather than comparing incomplete descriptions.
Record access requirements, dependencies on other trades and product-specific scheduling information. Ask what documentation and crew guidance will be supplied. For example, a lower quote may exclude condition assessment or a treated-area record that another proposal includes.
Separate confirmed costs from provisional work. Clarify how changed conditions or repair findings would be handled before authorizing the project. Do not assume the most expensive proposal is technically superior or the cheapest is directly comparable. The useful outcome is a clear understanding of which offer fits the actual vessel and operating needs. Keep the final comparison and supplier answers with the project record so the selected scope remains traceable after work begins and staff or contractors change.
List surveyed zones, preparation, agreed correction or restoration, coating system, access arrangements, inspection and crew handover. Ask each contractor to identify exclusions and assumptions. Keep product identity and supported application scope visible.
A lower total may cover less preparation or fewer surfaces rather than a more efficient equivalent service. Conversely, more listed stages do not automatically make a proposal better if they are unnecessary or unsupported. Compare the intended outcome and evidence for the process. The owner should be able to explain why the selected proposal fits the vessel, with uncertain surfaces and operating constraints resolved or clearly marked before work is commissioned.
