A blank coding area in artwork does not establish that the production batch code will print clearly and remain usable. Evaluate the actual variable-printing process on the selected package construction.

The printer, ink or ribbon, surface and production sequence form a practical system. The approval should address the information format and its readability after normal handling. A decorative mockup with a digitally added code cannot substitute for a sample produced by the equipment that will code the packs.
Illustrative example: a code looks clear immediately after printing but becomes difficult to read during routine packing. The issue requires review of the actual coding system and process, not merely a larger text box in the artwork file. A production trial makes that distinction visible.
Do not improvise solvents or abrasion tests on chemical packs without an approved procedure. This guide does not prescribe a particular ink or permanence standard. The supplier and packaging team should agree the required performance and retain the accepted sample and process settings.
