In oscillatory rheology, the word storage describes an elastic response. It does not describe how long a coating can remain in a warehouse or an opened container.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
Storage modulus, G prime, concerns the elastic component of the measured response; loss modulus, G double prime, concerns its viscous component. Both need the test conditions and method context to be interpreted meaningfully.
Illustrative example: a supplier provides a chart labelled storage modulus. A purchasing summary should describe the tested mechanical response instead of converting the chart into a storage-duration claim.
A rheology chart alone does not establish a product expiry date, curing schedule or service durability. Those claims require their own relevant evidence and product-specific instructions.
