Ceramic Coating on PPF: Compatibility and Preparation
Check film condition, finish compatibility and the approved coating process before applying ceramic protection over paint protection film.

Check both sides of the system
PPF has its own surface construction and care requirements. Confirm that the coating is suitable for the particular film and its glossy, matte or satin finish. A coating approved for painted clear coat is not automatically approved for every film.
Inspect the installation for lifted edges, trapped contamination and damaged areas. A coating cannot fix these faults or reattach loose film.
Prepare without unnecessary abrasion
Use cleaning products approved for the film and coating. Avoid transferring a paint-polishing or solvent routine to film without checking. Confirm any waiting period after film installation and carry out a suitable test area before treating the entire surface.
MATRIX LITE and MATRIX GRAPHENE list matte and glossy compatibility, while MATRIX PRO is intended for glossy finishes and excludes matte film. Select by the actual finish requirement.
Maintain the combination
Wash gently and take care around film edges when using pressure equipment. Record the film and coating products separately, including their care and warranty terms. If a film repair or replacement is planned, tell the installer what has been applied. The value of a compatible coating is its contribution to the film’s surface care, within the capabilities of both products.
