Pause at a safe point, inspect the applicator and surface, and review dose and working time against the product instructions.
An applicator reaching a contaminated area presents a different question from one becoming unsuitable after extended use.
Decision limits
Do not automatically add more product to every drag change. Identify the cause and follow the approved response.
