A coating exposed to heat can be assessed in several ways.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
A coating exposed to heat can be assessed in several ways. ‘Heat resistant’ may refer to appearance, adhesion or retention of a measured function, so a borophene product claim should state the actual endpoint.
Ask for the temperature, duration, specimen and conditions used. Clarify whether the value concerns a raw additive or the complete coating. A material-level result cannot be copied directly onto a bottle without evidence that it applies to the supplied formulation and intended surface.
A panel that still looks intact may not have been tested for every other function. Conversely, a visible change needs interpretation in the context of the test. Report the specific observation rather than summarising it as complete thermal immunity. Customers should continue to follow the product’s application and service guidance.
The strongest claim explains both the exposure and the property retained. Borophene can be part of the product story, but it does not establish an unlimited temperature capability for the complete coating system.
