Distinguish released housekeeping capacity from overtime that actually disappears when evaluating the economics of coated hotel shower glass.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A faster shower-glass routine can create useful capacity without immediately reducing payroll. The financial effect depends on when the saved time occurs and whether it changes paid hours, staffing or another measurable cost.
| Outcome | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Released capacity | Staff can perform other work during existing hours |
| Avoided overtime | Additional paid hours are actually reduced |
| Improved service | Quality or turnaround improves without a direct labour reduction |
Suppose a trial releases 90 minutes on a peak departure day. If the team already finishes within scheduled hours, the result is capacity. If a verified 60 minutes of overtime is eliminated, only those 60 minutes represent that specific cash saving. The remaining 30 minutes may still have operational value.
These are illustrative planning figures, not measured NANOLAB savings. Replace them with the property’s staffing and task records.
Time released late in the day may not solve a morning room-release bottleneck. Record when glass cleaning occurs and whether the improved task sits on the sequence that delays room availability.
Account for application downtime, training, supported maintenance products, inspection and any renewal work. Keep recurring and one-time costs separate. Do not count the same released hour as both avoided overtime and additional productive capacity unless the allocation is explicit.
Present a conservative scenario and the conditions needed for a better outcome. A project can be worthwhile because it improves consistency and peak-shift resilience, even when an immediate headcount reduction is neither demonstrated nor intended.
