Recheck foam-cannon dilution after equipment changes by measuring solution draw and total outlet volume under the new setup.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A foam-cannon bottle recipe does not uniquely determine the solution reaching the vehicle. Changing the pressure washer, nozzle, flow setting or cannon adjustment can change the amount of bottle solution drawn into the outlet stream.
The bottle contains concentrate mixed with water. The cannon then mixes that bottle solution with the washer’s water flow. Record both stages. A statement such as “one part in ten” is incomplete unless it says whether it refers to bottle preparation or final delivered solution.
Follow the equipment’s safe operating instructions and use a suitable collection arrangement. Measure bottle solution consumed and total collected outlet volume over the same interval. Keep settings fixed and repeat the measurement. Avoid collecting in a way that creates hazardous spray or changes the equipment’s normal flow.
If the bottle solution is 10% concentrate by volume, and 100 mL of that solution is drawn into a total outlet collection of 2,000 mL, the delivered concentrate fraction is:
0.10 × 100 / 2,000 = 0.005, or 0.5% by volume.
This idealised volume calculation assumes the measurements and mixture definition are appropriate. It is not a recommended shampoo concentration. Use the product’s instructions to determine the suitable delivered dose.
Repeat the same measurement after the equipment change. If bottle draw or total output changes, the previous recipe may no longer deliver the same concentration. Foam thickness alone cannot establish that the dose is unchanged.
Once the setup is adjusted within the product’s guidance, check cleaning, rinsing and dry appearance on a suitable test area. Do not optimise only for visual foam. Record washer, cannon, nozzle, settings and bottle recipe together so the process can be reproduced.
A short recheck after equipment changes prevents a workshop from unknowingly changing its chemistry while believing it changed only a machine.
