Coating Product Pages with Outdated Pack Images: Prevent Order Confusion

An outdated pack image can make a correct coating delivery look like the wrong product.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

An outdated pack image can make a correct coating delivery look like the wrong product. Customers compare the bottle they receive with the page they ordered from, including size, cap, accessories and label claims. Keep product imagery aligned with the actual saleable version and explain transitions clearly.

Audit the complete buying route

Compare the current physical pack with the product page, category thumbnail, distributor listing and order documents. Check whether each image shows the right quantity and included components. A photograph of a starter kit should not represent a bottle-only offer without a clear distinction.

Confirm that visible claims and application information match current approved documentation. Old packaging may carry superseded wording even when the formulation is unchanged. Do not use image replacement as an opportunity to introduce unsupported performance statements.

Record which versions remain in stock. Where packaging can legitimately vary during a transition, explain the relevant difference accurately and confirm the actual fulfilment arrangement with the supplier.

Prevent the mismatch from returning

Keep images, product identifiers and document versions in one controlled update checklist. Assign responsibility for notifying distributors when a pack changes. Provide approved images and concise factual transition notes rather than expecting each reseller to infer the change from a delivered carton.

Review customer support questions after the update. If buyers still confuse sizes or kit contents, improve the presentation rather than adding more fine print to an already crowded image. Accurate pack photography is part of product identification and expectation setting; it should help a customer recognise what arrived and find the instructions for that exact item.
