Stainless steel display plinths can be marked during product changes even when daily cleaning is careful. Boxes, fixtures and abrasive debris may cross the surface while staff focus on arranging merchandise. Plan the changeover as a handling task with its own protection and cleanup sequence.
Identify the plinth finish and any coating. Check the display fixture's contact points for rough edges, dirt and damaged pads. Do not assume that a soft-looking base remains clean after storage or transport.
Remove loose contamination using the approved surface-care method before moving objects across the top. Lift items using an appropriate handling procedure rather than sliding dirty bases along the finish. Use protective interfaces only where they are compatible with the plinth and the display requirements.
Keep tools, packaging staples and hard fittings off the exposed surface. Provide a separate work area for assembly so the plinth does not become an improvised bench while parts are sorted.
After repositioning, clean accessible areas with compatible products and inspect under the retail lighting. Look for new scratches, pressure marks and residue around contact points. Record any damage before applying a dressing or coating that changes its visibility.
Confirm that display items are stable and that protection does not create an unsafe mounting arrangement. Follow the fixture supplier's requirements for loads and attachments. A cosmetic coating does not replace those mechanical provisions.
Keep the changeover procedure with the display instructions. When a different team handles the next rearrangement, it should know which surfaces are coated, which cleaners are approved and how contact pads are inspected before reuse.
