From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
After fine cut, two inspections can serve different purposes: one verifies the correction result, and another confirms readiness for the selected ceramic coating.

After fine cut, two inspections can serve different purposes: one verifies the correction result, and another confirms readiness for the selected ceramic coating. They should not become repetitive wiping for its own sake. Define what each check is meant to establish.
Remove polishing residue with a compatible method and inspect under the agreed lighting. Confirm that fine haze and target defects meet the service requirement and that retained marks are documented. This is the point to resolve polishing quality before coating preparation begins.
Record the accepted appearance so any later change can be compared with a known state. A photograph under stable lighting is more useful than a memory that the panel looked glossy earlier.
Follow the exact coating manufacturer’s cleaning and surface-preparation instructions. After that process, confirm that the surface is suitably clean and that no new wiping marks, residue or contamination have appeared. Include seams and edges where liquids or dust can emerge.
The second check is not permission to keep applying progressively stronger cleaners. If preparation changes the appearance unexpectedly, diagnose the cause and consult the relevant product guidance.
| Finding after preparation | Next action |
| — | — |
| Finish remains accepted and preparation is complete | Proceed according to coating instructions |
| Streaking or residue remains | Resolve cleaning before coating |
| Fine marks appear | Distinguish revealed defects from new contact marks |
| Paint reacts unexpectedly | Stop and assess compatibility |
Do not apply coating to hide an uncertain finish or to avoid revisiting a failed check. Equally, do not automatically repolish a panel because an inspection cleaner left a removable smear.
For NANOLAB coatings, use the current instructions for the exact formula and surface. The practical value of two checks is that each answers a different question: did the polishing achieve the goal, and is that accepted surface now ready for the intended protection system?
