Small beads of compound under a pad can reflect uneven initial distribution, excessive liquid or a contaminated surface. They do not identify a single failure automatically. Diagnose the first section before spreading the same behaviour across the vehicle.
Confirm that washing and any required decontamination are complete and that the surface is suitable for the chosen polish. Residual protection, cleaners or oily contamination may alter how a liquid spreads. Use the preparation specified for the system rather than improvising stronger chemistry.
Inspect the pad and dispensing nozzle for dried fragments. A visible particle should not be crushed against paint in the hope that it is merely product. Remove questionable material and restore a clean working setup.
Follow the compound and pad instructions for priming and reload amount. Set the pad on the surface as directed and spread at the specified initial setting. Avoid adding liquid repeatedly before checking whether the original amount has distributed evenly.
Use a small test area and keep the pad appropriately aligned. If beads collect mainly at the outer edge or section boundary, note that pattern. Product distribution and contact geometry may be more relevant than the compound’s nominal cut rating.
Once a controlled cycle is complete, remove residue compatibly and inspect for correction, haze and new marks. If the finish is acceptable but the loading method is messy, refine the handling process within the manufacturer’s guidance. If new marks appear, stop and inspect for contamination before another cycle.
Change one factor at a time: a clean equivalent pad, corrected loading amount or properly completed preparation. Changing all three makes the cause impossible to identify.
Do not claim that beading proves silicone contamination or that a water-based liquid must spread identically on every surface. The useful conclusion is specific: which preparation and loading method produced a stable, repeatable result on the tested paint.
