Bottles allocated to approved sampling or demonstrations should remain distinguishable from ordinary saleable stock. Otherwise, an availability report can promise units that the business has already committed to another purpose.

The same physical product may serve different roles, but allocation needs a clear record. Keep the reason, quantity and release status visible. If unused promotional stock can return to saleable inventory, define the review required rather than moving it back automatically after an event.
Illustrative example: a distributor holds 100 bottles, with 30 reserved for a training programme. Showing all 100 as immediately saleable can create a conflict between customer orders and the event. The inventory view should show the physical total and the separate available quantity.
Do not return opened, used or otherwise unsuitable demonstration material to retail stock. This guide does not establish product-release criteria; the supplier and business procedures govern them. The aim is to preserve the distinction between having a bottle and being able to sell that bottle.
