Coating Shelf-Life Documents: Distinguish Manufacture Date from Review Date

Different dates on a pack or document can serve different purposes. Their meaning should be clear before stock decisions are made.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Identify manufacture, expiry, review and opening dates as applicable to the exact product. Ask the supplier about ambiguous codes.

A technical-document revision date is not the manufacturing date of every bottle that references it.

Decision limits

Do not calculate remaining usable life from an unrelated date or invent a date-code interpretation.
