Coating Complaint Trends: Compare Equal Exposure Windows

A newly delivered batch has had less time to generate feedback than an older batch. Comparing cumulative complaints without time context can mislead.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

Practical approach

Define a consistent observation window and report the number of units or installations covered. Keep recently supplied cohorts identifiable.

A batch delivered last week should not be declared more reliable than a year-old batch solely because fewer complaints have arrived.

Decision limits

Low reported complaints do not prove absence of problems. Consider reporting access and follow-up coverage when interpreting the result.
