Foam Cannons on Coated Cars: What Foam Does and Does Not Do
Use foam as part of a suitable pre-wash process without assuming thick coverage proves complete cleaning or makes all contact safe.

Foam is a delivery method
A foam cannon distributes a cleaning solution over the vehicle. The cleaning result depends on the product, concentration, dwell time, contamination and rinsing. Foam thickness alone does not measure how clean the panel becomes.
Check the cleaner’s compatibility with the coating and other vehicle surfaces. Follow both the equipment instructions and the product’s working-solution requirements.
Control dwell and drying
Apply under suitable conditions and do not let the solution dry where the label prohibits it. Hot panels, wind and direct sun can change the usable working time. Rinse thoroughly and assess how much loose contamination remains before contact washing.
Do not assume a foamed surface is free of abrasive grit. Keep wash media clean and use appropriate pre-rinsing where needed.
Diagnose the wash result
If road film remains, choose the next compatible step rather than increasing foam thickness indefinitely. Check dilution and equipment setup if residue or inconsistent cleaning occurs. After contact washing, rinse and dry carefully. A foam cannon can support a controlled routine, but it does not replace surface inspection, suitable chemistry or clean towels.
