Define useful enquiry categories and outcomes without presenting traffic as confirmed revenue.

More coating enquiries can be encouraging, but volume alone does not explain whether a launch is attracting the right buyers. Define quality through relevant progress, using categories that match the business rather than a single score applied to every contact.
Separate consumer purchases, installer questions, distribution discussions and private-label projects. Record the product or application interest where known. Do not treat missing technical details as automatic evidence of a poor lead; an early-stage buyer may need guidance before they can provide them.
Examples include an application clarified, a sample evaluation agreed, a technical question resolved or a commercial proposal requested. Choose milestones that reflect each enquiry type. Keep a confirmed order distinct from an intention to order, and avoid converting website traffic into assumed revenue.
For example, a product page may generate many maintenance questions but few purchasing enquiries. That is useful information about audience intent, not necessarily a failed page. Compare the questions people ask with the promise made by the content. Use available analytics and enquiry records to investigate the connection, while acknowledging gaps in attribution. The result should guide better pages, clearer qualification and more useful follow-up rather than produce an impressive report built on unverified assumptions.
Use stages such as relevant enquiry, qualified application, sample discussion, evaluated trial and confirmed order. Define each stage so different staff count it consistently. Record the source when it is known and leave it unknown when it is not.
An illustrative launch with 50 enquiries and 10 qualified applications has a 20% qualification rate under that definition. It does not establish profitability or prove which marketing activity caused the result. Review the reasons enquiries do not qualify: unsupported surfaces, wrong supply format or unavailable local service may require different responses. This gives the distributor actionable feedback instead of treating every form submission as an equally valuable sales opportunity.
Discuss your distribution requirements. For supporting information, review the current product documentation and the local distributor information.
| Stage | Evidence needed |
|---|---|
| Relevant enquiry | A real application within the offered scope |
| Qualified application | Known surface, buyer role and next decision |
| Trial discussion | A defined evaluation question and product |
| Evaluated trial | Recorded observations and an outcome |
| Order | Confirmed commercial action, not a forecast |
