Multiple upholstery colours make local compatibility and visual acceptance important. Test representative sections rather than relying on the darkest area.

Assess the starting condition

Map materials, repaired panels and coloured sections. Inspect them clean and dry. A small appearance change may be easier to see on light or contrasting upholstery than on a dark bolster.

A practical working method

  1. Trial approved preparation and protection for each relevant finish.
  2. Keep tools clean between colour zones.
  3. Inspect after the specified curing stage.
  4. Document accepted appearance and any exclusions.

Common mistake

A dark-area test can conceal a change that becomes obvious elsewhere. Shared contaminated tools may also transfer residue between sections.

What a useful result looks like

A useful result preserves the intended colour arrangement and links every treated material to its care guidance. Retain the test record before expanding treatment across the full interior.
