Applying labels after coating creates an adhesive-compatibility question. Confirm the attachment system rather than assuming a clean-looking surface is suitable.

Assess the starting condition

Identify the label adhesive, metal finish and exact coating. Check whether the manufacturer requires an untreated bonding area. Cosmetic protection and reliable adhesion may need different local preparation.

A practical working method

  1. Agree permitted label areas before treatment where possible.
  2. Follow the adhesive provider’s surface requirements.
  3. Avoid unapproved coating or cleaner residue in bonding zones.
  4. Record the final label and treatment boundaries.

Common mistake

A label that sticks initially does not prove long-term compatibility. Removing it later may also require a process suitable for the underlying finish system.

What a useful result looks like

The useful handover preserves label function and makes the surface history traceable. Keep attachment requirements separate from the coated panel’s regular cleaning instructions.
