Delivery carts can leave transferred material, scratches or dents on decorative metal. Identify the mark before choosing a treatment.

Assess the starting condition

Record the contact location and inspect after a compatible clean. A dark line may be transferred residue, but its appearance alone does not establish that the metal is undamaged.

A practical working method

  1. Photograph the dry condition.
  2. Trial approved cleaning locally.
  3. Inspect the original finish for physical change.
  4. Separate any restoration or repair from coating renewal.

Common mistake

Increasing abrasive strength until a line disappears can alter the surrounding grain. Coating does not prevent denting or make repeated cart contact harmless.

What a useful result looks like

The useful result distinguishes removed contamination from retained damage. Address the contact arrangement through the building’s normal maintenance process and keep later surface-care observations linked to the incident.
