Changing Cleaners on Ceramic-Coated Hotel Shower Glass

Trial a proposed housekeeping cleaner on an approved representative area before using it across coated hotel shower screens.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A housekeeping supplier change can alter the chemicals used on coated shower glass. Treat that change as a controlled maintenance decision. A cleaner’s familiar scent, colour or pH alone does not establish compatibility with the existing coating and surrounding materials.

Identify the current system

Record the coating formulation, installation dates and existing cleaning process. Obtain the proposed cleaner’s instructions and check compatibility with glass treatments, seals, hardware and nearby stone. Keep any hygiene requirements distinct from the coating’s surface-care role.

Do not replace approved dilutions or contact times with informal staff habits. A product comparison needs the actual intended use, not only the names printed on two bottles.

Run a representative trial

With supplier approval, choose a suitable test area or room and document its starting condition. Use the proposed process as directed, including rinsing and drying. Inspect the dry result for residue, streaks and appearance changes over a meaningful review period.

Keep a comparable area on the existing routine where practical. Record labour and cleanliness as separate observations; a faster wipe is not an improvement if it leaves a persistent film.

Roll out the approved process clearly

Confirm product-specific guidance through NANOLAB Shower Glass Nano Coating or the installed system’s supplier. Update dilution labels, staff instructions and stock together after approval.

Retain the trial record and tell housekeeping staff how to report unexpected marks. This preserves a clear maintenance history and avoids attributing a cleaner-related change to the coating without examining the new process first.
