Cleaner Residue or Coating Problem? Start with a Small Check

Streaks on a treated home surface can come from cleaning residue as well as other causes. Before deciding that the coating needs correction, inspect a small area using the agreed care method.

Review what was used

List the cleaner, dilution and any polish or protective spray recently applied. Check whether the surface was rinsed or dried as instructed. Include the cloth’s previous use, especially if oily products or abrasive cleaners were involved.

Perform a controlled clean

Choose a discreet area and follow the approved routine with clean tools. Inspect it once dry under the room’s normal lighting. Avoid changing several variables at once. A clear comparison with the surrounding area is more informative than repeatedly cleaning the entire surface with different products.

Escalate a persistent change

If the mark remains, take photographs and ask the installer what to check next. Do not assume stronger chemistry or polishing is the right answer.
