Changing wash providers can change the process applied to a coated vehicle. A brief record of the transition helps later maintenance conversations without assuming that the new provider will cause a problem. The aim is to keep product-specific care information connected to the vehicle.
Identify the installed coating and provide current care guidance to the new provider. Explain any known surface differences, such as film or recent repair areas. Ask which parts of the proposed service need clarification rather than assuming every package follows the same routine.
Note the date, service description and products or methods that are known. Keep unknown information clearly marked. For example, a receipt stating premium wash may not describe enough of the process to support a detailed technical conclusion later.
If an unfamiliar change appears, record its location and timing and discuss it with the responsible installer or manufacturer. Avoid treating sequence alone as proof of causation. Keep photographs and follow-up findings together. The record should support a fair investigation and a suitable care plan, while allowing the owner to use a convenient service that understands the actual treatment. Clear information at the start is more useful than trying to reconstruct the washing process after a concern has arisen.
Provide the installed product, relevant care guidance, known sensitive finishes and the owner's support contact. Identify any film, matte areas or specialist surfaces that require their own instructions. Ask the provider to confirm whether its normal service fits that guidance.
Record the date of the change and the service selected. If the provider uses products whose suitability is unclear, resolve that question before treating its standard package as approved. Keep the discussion factual and practical. The purpose is to preserve a traceable maintenance routine through the change, not to assume that the previous or new provider is responsible for every later observation on the vehicle.
