Stainless balustrade panels can have visible faces, narrow returns and inaccessible surfaces close to glazing or structural fittings. Coating coverage should be based on safe access and inspectable preparation. Do not describe the whole assembly as treated when only the reachable decorative faces were included.
Use the building's approved access arrangements and the fabricator's maintenance guidance. Do not lean over barriers, loosen fittings or reach into inaccessible areas to extend cosmetic coverage. Structural components and attachments should remain within the appropriate maintenance process.
Identify the stainless finish and any adjacent glass, seals or decorative materials. Choose compatible cleaning methods and control runoff. Inspect accessible returns for retained dirt or protective-film residue before preparing them for coating.
If complete access requires specialist equipment or dismantling, make that a separate planned scope. A small untreated return is preferable to an improvised procedure that cannot be inspected or performed safely.
Apply an approved coating only to surfaces that can be prepared, dried and levelled as specified. Inspect from the permitted viewpoints under useful lighting, including lower edges where excess may collect. Record exclusions on photographs or a simple elevation drawing.
Give the cleaning team the coverage map and approved routine. Differences in exposure between an outer face and sheltered return mean they should not be treated as identical performance samples. If contamination repeatedly emerges from an inaccessible joint, refer it to the fabricator or building maintenance team. Protection supports maintenance of a sound surface; it does not replace access planning, structural inspection or repair of a deteriorating assembly.
