From cutting and one-step correction to final finishing.
Using several mitts can become confusing if clean, used and area-specific tools look identical. A visible assignment system makes the intended wash routine easier to follow.

Decide which tools belong to the paint areas and which are reserved for lower or more contaminated sections. Keep wheel tools separately identified. Base the plan on the actual vehicle condition rather than colour labels alone.
Use a consistent clean staging arrangement or an established colour system. Check that every operator understands it. A new mitt added halfway through the job should receive an assignment before it enters the wash sequence.
Give used mitts a defined collection point so that they cannot be mistaken for the next clean tool. Follow the wash method and tool instructions for cleaning or replacement during use. Do not treat a quick visual check as a full contamination assessment.
Clean and inspect the tools according to their care guidance, then return them to their defined storage roles. Record recurring confusion or cross-use so the next job begins with a clearer process.
Only if their condition and assignments are controlled. Additional identical tools can introduce confusion when used and ready items are mixed.
