Handling Towel Lint During Ceramic Coating Application

Visible fibres during coating application can disrupt levelling and inspection. The source may be the towel, nearby textile dust or another part of the workstation. Respond while the section’s state is known, using the coating’s instructions, rather than continuing across the vehicle and hoping the fibres will disappear.

Stop and identify the source

Check the towel face, edges and preparation history. Inspect nearby supplies and work surfaces for loose fibres. Compare with a clean, suitable replacement without introducing another uncertain towel into the same area.

Consider the product’s working behaviour

Correct the affected section appropriately

Follow the manufacturer’s direction for removing the contamination or addressing the finish at its current stage. Do not scrape fibres from a curing layer or apply an improvised solvent. If the correct response is uncertain, obtain guidance before continuing.

Use interrupted application to keep the section status clear while the issue is resolved. Record which areas have been applied, levelled and inspected.

Re-establish a clean workflow

Replace unsuitable towels, protect the clean supply and check the applicator and workstation. Test the revised process on a manageable area before extending it. Inspect the result under useful lighting and retain the observation in the job record.
