A coating's additive identity does not automatically establish its optical appearance.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
A coating’s additive identity does not automatically establish its optical appearance. If transparency or colour neutrality matters, assess that property for the exact formula and intended substrate.
Specify whether the customer needs no visible colour change, preserved sheen or another particular result. Inspect an appropriate test area under consistent conditions. A bottle’s colour and a research image of a thin material are not direct measurements of the commercial coating’s final appearance.
If a test area appears unchanged, describe that result for the product, surface and viewing conditions used. Do not expand it into a universal statement covering every finish and application thickness. If an instrumental assessment is needed, use a suitable method and retain the report.
Appearance is a legitimate product benefit when supported. Keep it separate from the marketing appeal of graphene or borophene, and choose the coating based on the customer’s actual finish requirement rather than an assumed property of the additive name.
Discuss a private-label coating project or ask NANOLAB about the exact formula for your application.
