Graphene and Borophene Technical Questions: A Useful Way to Say We Do Not Know

An honest technical answer can include an unknown.

Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

An honest technical answer can include an unknown. The important step is to identify exactly what is unknown and what information would resolve it, rather than filling the gap with a confident claim.

Be specific about the gap

Distinguish an undisclosed formula detail from an unperformed comparison or an uncertain interpretation. ‘We do not publish the additive loading here’ means something different from ‘we have not established that this additive caused the observed difference’. Clear wording helps the customer understand the limitation.

Offer the relevant next step

Provide the current product information, refer the question to the appropriate technical contact or agree a meaningful evaluation. Do not send an unrelated research paper as though it answers a product-specific question. The material name can remain interesting even when a particular benefit is not yet established.

Professional confidence comes from knowing the boundary of the evidence. Graphene and borophene communication is stronger when unknowns are stated precisely and customers are given a practical route to the information they need.
