A customer who asks whether graphene or borophene is 'just marketing' is asking for clarity.

A customer who asks whether graphene or borophene is ‘just marketing’ is asking for clarity. A defensive answer or an unrelated scientific fact will not resolve the concern.
Explain that the names can support recognition, curiosity and positioning. Then describe the actual coating as a formulation with an additive. This acknowledges the marketing value without dismissing the chemistry or pretending that every claimed benefit has been isolated experimentally.
Ask which outcome the customer wants to evaluate and provide the relevant product-specific information. If a comparative advantage is not established, say so. The coating may still be suitable because of its documented use, workflow or support. Avoid treating skepticism as a reason to make a bigger claim.
A direct answer builds a more useful conversation. The customer should understand both why the material name is commercially attractive and how to judge the finished coating on evidence rather than on the name alone.
Discuss a private-label coating project or ask NANOLAB about the exact formula for your application.
