Clear and patterned panes can require different inspection and cleaning methods. Compare them without assuming the same visual endpoint or tool contact.

Assess the starting condition

Confirm which face is textured and whether either pane has a factory treatment. A smooth-face result cannot establish coating suitability or cleaning ease on a textured face.

A practical working method

  1. Set an acceptance standard for each actual finish.
  2. Use approved tools that contact the respective surfaces correctly.
  3. Record labour and residue removal separately.
  4. Inspect each pane dry under a suitable repeatable viewing setup.

Common mistake

A tool that glides across smooth glass may leave residue in texture. Comparing only beading or a single photograph can miss that practical difference.

What a useful result looks like

A useful result explains the performance of each confirmed surface system. Keep the comparison within the approved coating scope and avoid claiming that a clear-glass trial predicts patterned-glass maintenance.
