Fresh silicone work and glass treatment require coordinated sequencing. Establish that the sealant work is ready before final glass preparation.

Assess the starting condition

Ask the installer which sealant was used, when it was applied and what cure or cleaning restrictions remain. Distinguish stable sealant from smears on glass and from the coating’s own cure schedule.

A practical working method

  1. Confirm completion of sealant work with the installer.
  2. Remove glass residue only with compatible methods.
  3. Protect the sealant boundary during coating application.
  4. Provide separate release instructions for the enclosure assembly and the glass treatment.

Common mistake

Using the coating’s stated cure time as the waiting period for new silicone confuses two products. Coating also cannot compensate for defective sealing.

What a useful result looks like

The useful handover records the installed sealant, treated glass and applicable restrictions. If the schedules conflict, resolve them before use rather than combining them into one unsupported number.
