After a fuel-delivery visit, a coated boat may have handling marks, hose contact residue or a spill requiring a specific response. Separate routine cosmetic cleaning from fuel-handling incidents. Follow the vessel, marina and product procedures for any active spill before considering surface appearance.
Once the area is safe to inspect, note where hoses, footwear and hands contacted the boat. Photograph visible marks and identify any product or fluid involved. Do not assume that every dark line is ordinary dirt or that coating makes fuel exposure harmless.
Use the boat and coating suppliers' approved cleanup method for the known contamination. Keep work away from fuel openings, seals and equipment outside the cosmetic scope. Do not wash an unresolved spill into the water or improvise chemical treatment to conceal it.
For ordinary handling residue, use clean tools and a compatible process. Keep cloths used near fuel-related contamination separate from normal finishing towels and handle them according to the relevant instructions.
Check the dry surface for persistent staining, softening or physical marks. If a change remains, obtain an appropriate assessment before polishing or recoating. Record what was used during cleanup so technical support can distinguish the original exposure from subsequent treatments.
Review the handling route with the responsible service provider where recurring hose contact is visible. Suitable protection and controlled handling can address the source more directly than repeated coating application. The goal is a sound surface and a clear response process, with fuel-system and environmental requirements managed through their proper procedures rather than folded into an ordinary wash routine.
