New bathroom lighting can reveal marks that were previously difficult to see. Recreate a fair inspection before concluding that the coating suddenly changed.

Assess the starting condition

Record the lighting change and inspect a clean, dry pane. Distinguish reflections from streaks and check both glass faces. Strong directional lighting may reveal residue that diffuse lighting concealed.

A practical working method

  1. Clean a small section with the approved method.
  2. Compare the same area from a repeatable angle and distance.
  3. Check the opposite face before treating the suspected mark again.
  4. Use comparable photographs if asking the installer to investigate.

Common mistake

Comparing old photographs under warm diffuse light with new images under a bright directional fixture can exaggerate a change. Repeated cleaning may not affect a reflection or a mark on the other face.

What a useful result looks like

The useful endpoint is an identified dry-surface condition with controlled observation. If a genuine streak remains, provide lighting details and the application history to support rather than applying stronger cleaners solely because the new fixture exposes it.
