Tyre dressing overspray can leave a film on a ceramic-coated wheel and nearby bodywork.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
Tyre dressing overspray can leave a film on a ceramic-coated wheel and nearby bodywork. If the finish smears after dressing, investigate that additional product before concluding that the wheel coating has changed.
Follow the tyre-product instructions and use an application method that keeps it on the intended surface. Spraying freely toward a fitted wheel can contact the wheel face, brakes and surrounding trim. More product is not necessarily a better finish, and excess may create further transfer during use.
Keep the dressing applicator separate from wheel-cleaning and paint-contact tools. A towel used to level tyre product should not later be used to dry a coated wheel or wipe a body panel.
Note when the appearance changed and which dressing was used. Compare the affected area with a section that did not receive the product, where a meaningful comparison is available. Clean through a method approved for the wheel finish and coating; do not substitute a strong solvent without compatibility guidance.
Inspect after drying. If the film clears, adjust the dressing process rather than repeatedly stripping and renewing the wheel protection. If staining or a persistent finish change remains, seek assessment and retain the product details.
At handover, check the wheel face from several angles and inspect nearby lower paint for transfer. Keep tread and braking surfaces free from inappropriate cosmetic products in accordance with vehicle and product instructions. The goal is a controlled tyre finish alongside a clean wheel, not a visually wet assembly with unknown product on every surrounding component.
