Assess polished aluminium before ceramic coating, distinguishing bare metal from clear-coated parts and setting a realistic appearance and care trial.

Polished aluminium can resemble chrome, but its preparation history and exposed surface are different. Before applying ceramic coating, establish whether the component is bare polished aluminium or carries a clear finish. This determines what the coating must bond to and which cleaning process is appropriate.
Review the part under side lighting. Record haze, scratches, water marks and patchy oxidation before deciding whether refinishing is needed. If polishing is selected, it should be completed as a separate controlled process with a defined stopping point.
Do not assume that a blackened polishing cloth identifies the whole component or proves that no protective layer exists. Ask the manufacturer or refinisher when the finish history is unclear. On valuable or thin decorative parts, unnecessary abrasion can permanently change the appearance.
Metal polishes can leave residues, so ask the coating supplier which preparation sequence is approved for the exact polished surface. At the same time, confirm that the cleaner is permitted by the component maker. An automotive paint preparation method cannot simply be transferred to every bare-metal part.
Use a matching sample to compare the fully prepared untreated finish with the coated result. Record the interval between preparation and application rather than leaving it as an uncontrolled variable.
Inspect reflection sharpness and any change in tone after the prescribed cure. Then evaluate cleaning after normal exposure. If the part is outdoors, include its actual water and contamination conditions in the trial; an indoor display sample is not a durability demonstration for exterior service.
Future metal polishing may remove or disturb an applied treatment. Keep a record of the product and preparation method so a later refinisher can plan accordingly. If haze develops, diagnose residue, oxidation and coating condition before polishing the entire part. Ask NANOLAB to confirm a suitable formula for the specific aluminium finish and service environment rather than choosing on the basis of the word ceramic alone.
For your exact finish and service conditions, ask NANOLAB about coating suitability and consult the current product documentation.
