Stability is an important question in borophene research, but it should be discussed for a defined material and environment. Neither ‘borophene is always unstable’ nor ‘our additive can never oxidise’ is a useful universal product statement.
Ask how the additive is specified, stored and incorporated into the coating. A published observation about one laboratory material does not automatically describe another preparation or a formulated product. Conversely, putting a material into a bottle is not by itself proof that every relevant stability concern has been resolved.
For a coating purchase, the practical questions are its storage conditions, usable shelf life and expected condition before application. Ask what evidence supports those instructions for the complete product. If stability is used as a selling point, request the test conditions and acceptance criteria. Do not replace this information with a broad reassurance based only on the product name.
A responsible explanation recognises the scientific question while staying specific about the commercial formula. The right conclusion comes from evidence for the supplied system, not from either hype or blanket dismissal.
