Update coating and cleaning records when one shower door is replaced so a room-level label does not conceal a mixed treatment history.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge

A room can be listed as coated even after its shower door has been replaced with untreated glass. That mismatch creates confusing maintenance results and can lead staff to diagnose a product failure that is actually a record problem.
Identify the replaced component, installation date, glass supplier and any factory surface treatment. Keep the remaining fixed panels in the record with their original coating history. Do not reset the entire enclosure’s treatment date unless the whole enclosure is actually reworked.
| Component | Example status |
|---|---|
| Fixed panel | Existing coating; original application date retained |
| Replacement door | New glass; coating status awaiting confirmation |
| New hardware and seals | Installation and care requirements recorded separately |
Confirm that the new glass and any factory treatment are compatible with the proposed coating. Follow the installation requirements for adjacent sealants and fittings. Establish the correct treatment and return-to-use sequence with the responsible suppliers.
New glass, an older maintained coating and a factory-treated replacement may respond differently to water. The difference is a reason to inspect the records, not proof that the oldest surface has failed.
For illustration, housekeeping notices that water spreads on the new door while it beads on the fixed panel. Before adding a booster to the whole enclosure, confirm whether the replacement door was ever treated and whether the observed behaviour matches its actual surface.
Make temporary restrictions and treatment status visible in the room maintenance system. A replacement note held only by the engineering team may never reach the cleaner. Assign responsibility for confirming the final status once treatment or inspection is complete.
At the next audit, compare each component with its own baseline and history. A panel-level record is a small administrative step that prevents unnecessary rework and keeps later warranty or technical discussions grounded in what was actually installed.
