A shampoo's slippery feel is one observation, not proof that it prevents wash marks.

A shampoo's slippery feel is one observation, not proof that it prevents wash marks. Wash damage also depends on the contamination present, the contact tool, pressure, rinsing and the condition of the paint. Choosing by hand feel alone can reward a pleasant sensation without demonstrating a better wash.
Start with the manufacturer's recommended dilution and a compatible coated test surface. Use equivalent tools, water, pre-rinsing and panel size. Measure the concentrate rather than pouring by eye. Keep the first comparison small enough that neither product dries while you work.
Record three separate things: how the tool moves, how well the soil is removed, and how the dry finish looks. A mixture that feels extremely slick but leaves residue may require additional rinsing. A product that cleans well can still be used badly if grit remains in the mitt.
Do not deliberately scrub a customer's paint to test scratch resistance. If a comparative test could damage the finish, use a suitable sacrificial panel and clearly document its limitations.
For normal maintenance, prefer a product that fits the coating's instructions and works reliably with your washing method. If the mitt begins dragging, stop and check loading, dilution, water coverage and surface contamination. Increasing shampoo concentration without checking the label is not a universal fix.
A useful comparison note might read: “At the stated dilution, both products removed the visible road film; product B needed a second rinse to leave the panel clear.” That is more informative than “B is twice as slippery”. There is no defensible percentage reduction in scratching without an appropriate measurement and repeatable test. Keep the conclusion tied to what the trial actually showed.
