An unexpected result is easier to investigate when the specimen and its history remain available. Immediately polishing away a mark or discarding a sample can remove evidence needed to understand a graphene coating problem.
Photograph the affected area and note the product code, preparation, application and exposure. Keep the relevant instructions and batch information. If further treatment is needed, consult the manufacturer and record what was done. Avoid recreating aggressive tests on a customer’s vehicle merely to prove a point.
Describe what happened in concrete terms: haze, residue, a visible mark or a changed measurement. Do not label the cause as ‘bad graphene’ without supporting analysis. The issue could concern the formula, substrate, process or another factor, and the record should allow those possibilities to be examined.
A disciplined failure record improves both product support and future testing. It is more useful than either dismissing the complaint or making a confident chemical diagnosis from one photograph.
