An adhesion promoter and a primer are not automatically interchangeable products. Ask whether the supplier means an ingredient inside a formulation, a separate surface treatment or a complete coating layer before choosing a process.
Updated · NANOLAB Knowledge
The location of a material in the coating system matters as much as its name. An ingredient intended for controlled manufacture may not be suitable for direct application. A ready-to-use primer has its own substrate, preparation and overcoating requirements. Buyers should obtain the intended process instead of interpreting a familiar chemical description as an installation instruction.
Illustrative purchasing example: two quotations both mention adhesion promotion, but one supplies a formulated primer while the other describes an ingredient available to coating manufacturers. Their prices and pack sizes do not represent equivalent installation options. The buyer needs a process-level comparison before requesting samples.
Do not add raw adhesion promoters to a NANOLAB coating or substitute a primer without written compatibility guidance. This distinction helps frame a technical discussion; it does not establish that any particular chemical is appropriate for a particular finish.
