Ceramic Coating Stopped Beading: Has It Failed?
Investigate contamination, wash residue and toppers before assuming reduced water beading means the coating has disappeared.

Start with a clean comparison
Water behaviour is influenced by the outermost surface. Road film, minerals, shampoo residue and maintenance products can all change it. Compare the same panel after a suitable wash and thorough rinse rather than testing a dirty vehicle and declaring failure.
Horizontal and vertical panels also drain differently, so compare similar areas under similar conditions.
Investigate likely causes
Review the products used since installation and the car’s exposure. If mineral water or traffic film is likely, discuss a compatible targeted decontamination process. Avoid immediately adding another topper, since new beading can hide the original cause without resolving it.
Check which coating was installed. A base coat such as QUARTZ99 is not intended to be hydrophobic on its own, so its purpose must be considered separately from the top coat.
Decide using more than droplets
Combine water behaviour with appearance, ease of cleaning, service history and professional inspection. If suitable cleaning restores performance, complete renewal may be unnecessary. If wear, correction or paint repair is involved, a planned local or full reapplication may be justified. Ask what evidence supports the recommendation and record the treatment for future maintenance.
