Capture treated zones and condition details so future crew can identify the work scope.

Marine project photographs should identify treated areas and meaningful condition details. They are most useful when another person can connect each image to a location on the vessel. A gallery of close-up reflections may look impressive while providing little value for maintenance handover.
Begin with overall views, then move to labelled zones and relevant details. Keep the orientation clear and use the same zone references as the surface map. Avoid including unrelated personal or operational information in the frame when it is not needed.
Identify the product and stage shown. Record existing conditions, completed scope and exclusions where relevant. For example, a repaired section should remain distinguishable from adjacent original material even if the final colour appears uniform.
Keep original images and concise captions rather than relying on heavily edited promotional versions. Explain the limits of what photographs establish: they can document appearance and location but do not by themselves prove compatibility, thickness or long-term durability. Include current product information and care guidance alongside the images. The handover should let an owner, crew member or future contractor understand what was treated and where further questions belong, without needing to reconstruct the project from marketing photographs alone.
Capture overall vessel context, zone boundaries, existing defects, completed appearance and excluded areas. Pair close-ups with wider location views and keep dates and product references in the job record. Avoid using promotional edits as the only technical record.
Include any repaired or mixed-material zones that may need separate care decisions later. At handover, show the crew how to locate the relevant image and record a new observation in the same format. The photo set should help someone understand what was treated and assess a future question, not merely provide attractive after pictures that conceal the starting condition or the limits of the service.
