Define escalation triggers for uncertain compatibility, unexplained changes and unavailable instructions.

Manufacturer input is valuable when a coating question goes beyond the available approved information. Escalation should be a deliberate part of support, not a last resort after several speculative treatments have been tried. Define the situations that require further review.
Examples include an unknown surface treatment, a proposed product combination, conflicting instructions or an observation that the local team cannot explain from current guidance. Keep the uncertainty specific. A general message saying it does not work gives the manufacturer little basis for an answer.
Include exact product identity, surface, relevant dates, procedure followed and the customer's observations. Attach useful photographs or document references. State what has already been tried and distinguish facts from proposed causes. Do not omit an unsuccessful intervention simply because it complicates the case.
For example, guidance for one identified film should not become a general recommendation for every wrap. Record the answer, the assumptions it relies on and any required follow-up. Keep one person responsible for communicating with the customer. Escalation works best when it improves the quality of the decision and maintains accountability, rather than transferring a vague problem between organizations without a clear owner or a usable factual record.
Escalate when the substrate is unidentified, instructions appear inconsistent, the proposed use falls outside documented scope or an observation persists after the appropriate approved assessment. Collect the product and process record before asking for technical review.
State what has already been checked and what decision is needed. Do not ask the manufacturer to confirm a conclusion that the evidence has not established. Keep the response attached to the exact use case and relay its limitations accurately. Escalation is productive when it leads to a bounded recommendation or a defined evaluation step, rather than a broad approval later reused for different products, surfaces or conditions.
