Replacement hardware creates a sequencing question for shower-glass coating. Coordinate with the installer so treated and bonding surfaces are not confused.

Assess the starting condition

Confirm which fittings will be removed or replaced and how they attach. Some areas may become concealed, while adhesive or gasket contact requirements may need a different preparation condition from the exposed pane.

A practical working method

  1. Agree the installation and treatment order with the hardware provider.
  2. Record exposed glass faces and excluded contact areas.
  3. Complete preparation without contaminating future bonding surfaces.
  4. Inspect the assembled enclosure and issue the final care record after installation.

Common mistake

Coating every accessible area first can conflict with a fitting’s attachment requirements. Conversely, installing hardware before agreeing scope may leave areas that cannot be treated or inspected.

What a useful result looks like

The useful result connects the glass treatment with the completed assembly. Retain the hardware and coating instructions together, and do not improvise treatment under gaskets or adhesive fixtures when their requirements are unknown.
