Defining a Clean Endpoint in a Shower-Coating Maintenance Trial

A cleaning-time trial needs a stated finish to reach. Without that endpoint, a shorter clean may simply leave more residue on the glass.

Choose the practical question

Decide whether the trial concerns time, product use, effort or accepted appearance. Identify the pane, coating and use history. Keep these observations distinct rather than reducing them immediately to one performance score.

Define the accepted dry view

Use a suitable inspection method and state which visible residues the normal clean should address. Keep permanent marks or unresolved glass damage outside the cleaning endpoint. Compare the same relevant locations at each review.

Record the actual method

Use approved cleaner and tools, with the supplied working sequence. Include preparation, removal and drying where they form part of the routine. A stopwatch result without the method cannot be reproduced meaningfully.

Report remaining differences

Retain observations of residue and any changed conditions alongside the elapsed work. If the endpoint cannot be matched, state that limitation instead of claiming an efficiency gain. Repeat a poorly defined comparison before using it in a product claim.

Frequently asked question

Can a two-minute clean be ranked above a five-minute clean automatically?

No. Compare the accepted result, starting condition and complete method as well as the elapsed time.
