Photographs can document a boat’s finish, but lighting and surface wetness can strongly affect the impression they create. A useful comparison keeps those variables as consistent as practical.
Photograph clean, dry surfaces before preparation. Include close views of defects and wider images that identify their position. Use similar angles and avoid comparing a dull shaded image with a bright reflection after treatment.
Where the project includes correction, record the prepared finish before coating as well as the final result. This helps explain which visible changes came from restoration and what the coating stage added. Do not present a freshly wet surface as evidence of dry gloss or durability.
Include dates, cleaning history and relevant exposure when sharing follow-up photographs. Label illustrative examples accurately and avoid turning one boat’s result into a universal performance promise. Consistent records are more useful for the owner and installer than dramatic comparisons that change several conditions at once.
